Kumho Provides Assistance to Queensland Flood Survivors

Kumho Tyres Australia has announced it will initially donate $20,000 to the Queensland Premiers Flood relief fund to help the many survivors of the downpour on the road to recovery.

In addition to the overall donation Kumho says it is investigating other ways to assist the many thousands of people suffering as a result of the massive inundation.

According to the Managing Director of Kumho Tyres Australia, Mr Edmund Cho, the company is keen to be able to provide some assistance to those affected by the floods and hopes that other companies can join Kumho in helping the many thousands affected by the events of the past few weeks.

"We hope that the donation we provide will help the survivors recover and then return their lives to some level of normality as quickly as possible," said Mr Cho.

"People all around the world have been watching the horrifying television pictures showing the raging torrents and massive walls of water and we know that Australians have provided help and assistance to others from many other countries in times of suffering and displacement and now it is time to repay those favours," he said.

"As a proud Korean-Australian company Kumho Tyres Australia is only too pleased to provide this assistance and we hope to do much more before the flood crisis is over," he added.

Kumho Tyres Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kumho Tire Inc of Korea one of the top ten tyre manufacturers in the world.

Kumho has been marketing products in Australia for over 30 years and as a tyre company Kumho is committed to working hard to provide a substantial contribution to the betterment of people and society in general.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, Kumho is using innovative technology to develop more environmentally friendly tyres.

Tyre customers are urged to support Kumho's backing of the Queensland Premiers Flood Relief Fund by considering what level of assistance they can provide.
