Kumho has taken Formula 3 driver Chris Anthony to record pace around Australia's most prestigious racetrack, Bathurst's Mt Panorama.
The Cooma based driver broke the outright lap record of the famed 6.213km circuit in his Kumho shod Dallara Mercedes Benz F3 with a time of 2m03.8245s on the way to claiming his maiden win.
According to the Anthony the track's new surface and Kumho's Ecsta track tyre are a match made in grip heaven but the record hasn't sunk in yet.

"We didn't struggle for grip at all. The tyres are great for these cars," said Chris Anthony.
"It's a big thing. It's just massive! I can't comprehend it all at the moment," he beamed.
"I wasn't concentrating on the laps. I was more focused on consistency and building a gap so when my engineer told me I broke Shane van Gisbergen's record I couldn't believe it."
Formula 3 is the only 'wings and slicks' category in Australia and uses a specially designed Kumho Ecsta track tyre.
Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0 litre motor, F3 highlights the relationship between grip, handling and speed.

Kumho shod Formula 3s also hold the record at Adelaide's Parklands Street Circuit, New South Wales' Wakefield Park and Queensland's Morgan Park.
"It's just phenomenal to be in the record books as the fastest man around Bathurst," added Anthony.
Tomorrow's Formula 3 podium will have a pink theme with the trophy recipients showing their support of the McGrath Foundation ahead of Kumho's major McGrath Foundation fundraiser Pink Fitters Day on Friday 2nd May.
