KUMHO COMMITS TO FOURTH PERTH PLATINUM STORE

Leading tyre company Kumho has continued the expansion of its rapidly growing Platinum dealer network in Western Australia with the opening of a fourth store in Perth.

Wheels on Yirrigan is a family owned and run dealer in the northern Perth suburb of Mirrabooka and joins Kumho's other WA Platinum stores in Bentley, Byford and Belmont.

The Kumho Platinum dealer concept has been developed to showcase Kumho's innovation and reputation through a network of friendly and professional outlets.

According to Kumho National Trade Manager, Glenn Pearse, Wheels on Yirrigan was selected as Platinum Dealer because of its professionalism, commitment to the brand and outstanding customer service.

"The market demands friendly, professional dealers and Wheels on Yirrigan excels in both areas," said Glenn Pearse.

"Wheels on Yirrigan owner Bob Morgan understands the importance of maintaining modern facilities and his rich family history in the automotive sector is a benefit to the Platinum Dealer scheme."

Bob Morgan has been around cars and motor sport his entire life and his family's involvement in the industry spans 125 years.

His grandfather was a United Kingdom based vehicle importer and producer from the 1890s until World War 1 when his plant was converted to make ammunition. Following the war he was involved in developing speedway tracks.

In the 1920s his father raced cars and speedway bikes before becoming a stunt rider in the 30s and continued working in the industry until the 80s.

Bob's automotive career began more than 50 years ago in England after completing mechanic and technicians courses. He ran workshops for others and eventually opened his own store before moving to Australia.



After migrating Bob ran rally teams while also running auto repair shops and completing further studies. There were plans to retire but Bob was lured into opening Wheels on Yirrgan by Gavin Morgan.

Bob Morgan says he's honoured to be awarded Kumho Platinum status and it adds a new chapter to his family's automotive involvement.

The store is located at 2/5 Cobbler Place in Mirrabooka and features off street parking, customer friendly waiting areas with TV as well as tea and coffee facilities.

On top of wheel fitting, balancing and alignment, Wheels on Yirrigan is also equipped to handle suspension, exhaust and general servicing work.

The Platinum Dealer program continues to be rolled out around the country as Kumho aims to offer the best service and value in the retail tyre market.
