Maiden Auto GP Win for Roda

Auto GP Red Bull Ring, Austria - rounds 11 & 12 of this championship were held over the weekend of 19th & 20th July at this track in Austria owned by Red Bull and where Formula 1 raced four weeks earlier. Two sets of soft compound and one set of medium compound Kumho S700 slick tyres were allocated for each car. The tyres performed well despite very high ambient and track temperatures,
Race 1 saw Kimiya Sato fight for victory against a hard-charging Tamas Pal Kiss (Virtuosi UK) who he finally eclipsed on lap 14.
Race 2 saw a completely different outcome with Andrea Roda (Virtuosi UK) scoring his maiden Auto GP win. Scoring a total of 35 points over the weekend resulted in Roda being awarded €20,000 in prize money and third place in standings behind team-mate Tamas Pal Kiss who ended in second.
Finishing the podium line up was Michela Cerruti who managed a spectacular comeback after staring last and an early retirement in race 2 due to contact with a wall. Round 7 commences on the 16th August 2014 at the Nürburgring Circuit.
