KUMHO TYRE SCORES HIGHLY IN PRESTIGIOUS EUROPEAN TYRE TESTS

HS52

Kumho’s ECSTA HS52 has excelled and scored highly in one of Europe’s toughest tyre tests conducted by leading German automobile club, ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club) and was one of only three products to receive the highest rating.

The ECSTA HS52 finished third in the overall test only just behind tyres from European brands Continental and Michelin, recording the highest ranking of any Korean tyre brand.

The test compared the performance of 215/55R17 tyres for sale in European markets from 16 manufacturers including Kumho Tyres.

The tests took place using a Volkswagen T-Roc, and encompassed two key test criteria, ‘driving safety’, including wet and dry road performance and also ‘environmental balance’, covering mileage, wear resistance, efficiency, noise levels and sustainability.

The Kumho ECSTA HS52 covers a range of sizes to fit both sedans and SUVs and features a tread pattern with a robust block, which allows the tyre to maintain consistently high levels of grip, whilst delivering a quiet, smooth, and comfortable ride.

In addition, the tyre’s powerful, rigid shoulder blocks enhance steering performance for maximum driving safety.

Senior vice-president of passenger car tyre development at Kumho Tyres, Seonghak Song said the outstanding test result from an organisation with significant influence in Europe and around the world demonstrates the technological prowess of Kumho Tyres.

“It also serves as a testament to our competitiveness in Korea and beyond.  We will continue to enhance our R&D activities to strengthen Kumho’s position as a trusted brand in the marketplace,” Seonghak Song said.

Kumho was also recognized for its technological capability when the ECSTA HS52 finished second out of 55 tires in a recent braking safety test conducted by one of the most prestigious European motoring magazines, Auto Bild. The test involved 205/55R16 size tyres, which is the most frequently purchased fitment for the popular European compact car segment.
