Kumho Tyres obtains highest ranking in European tyre evaluation
Kumho Tyres were nominated as “very recommendable” in a test conducted by Europe's most authoritative automobile magazine, Auto Bild, a German publication. The quality test, managed by the motoring magazine with the largest circulation in Germany, tested 14 major from around the world including Michelin, Continental, Dunlop and others in terms of handling, riding comfort, braking performance, fuel efficiency and other factors. Kumho Tyres' ECSTA HM received equally high scores across most of the different categories such as handling, braking performance, cornering, and drainage to grab third place in the overall ranking. In the article Auto Bild writers stated, “Kumho Tyres ECSTA HM received very good evaluation scores in most of the areas. Among other areas, it achieved outstanding results in noise and drainage.”
Kumho Tyres’ ECSTA HM is one of the company's top products targeting the European market and it had already been ranked in joint second position in the test performed by the German auto magazine Autozeitung in 2009. Its upgraded UHP tread compound technology led to better driving stability and a dramatic increase in the lifespan of the product.
Europe accounts for 30% of all overseas sales of Kumho Tyres and the test results are expected to boost sales of relevant products even further.
Kumho Tyres officials said, “Despite the difficulties that we are going through these days, our products have been recognized in the global market with outstanding technological capability and good quality. We celebrate our 50th anniversary this year. We are determined to make further efforts in order to achieve even better results in the global market taking advantage of the R&D assets that we have accumulated to date.”
